Mechanism of action:

• The formulation of this herbal anti-coccidiosis medicine is based entirely on the active ingredients of the plants of the oak, garlic and artemisia. Artemisinin is the most important active ingredient in artemisia, which has strong antiparasitic effects. Artemisinin, through the destruction of peroxide complexes, causes the formation of free radicals, resulting in oxidative stress in the parasite. These radicals directly inhibit sporulation and prevent the formation of the parasite’s cell wall. Artemisinin is also an inhibitor of the endoplasmic reticulum and disrupts calcium ion homeostasis, resulting in disruption of cellular pathways regulated by this ion, such as protein secretion, motility, cell division and differentiation. As a result, artemisinin reduces the excretion of parasite oocysts from the animal and also reduces sporulation in excreted oocytes. Reducing oocyst excretion leads to disease control and prevention of its transmission and spread at the herd and farm level. In addition, Artemisia annua contains compounds that help maintain the natural microflora of the digestive tract and thus increase nitrogen absorption. Tannin is the most important effective compound of oak placenta, which penetrates the wall of oocysts and inactivates the enzymes responsible for sporulation. In addition, tannins improve the digestive tract environment by having antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Tannins remove them from the reach of digestive tract bacteria by creating complexes with proteins so that they reach the intestinal environment safely and are absorbed by the body’s cells. Sulfur compounds in garlic, such as allicin, have broad antimicrobial properties that can reduce the negative effects of microbial infections. Allicin effectively inhibits the sporulation of the Eimeria parasite.
