Description

  • In Iran, measuring the concentration of carbon monoxide gases (a silent killer) is of particular importance, and these tubes are key tools for the quick, accurate, and easy detection of these dangerous gases in industrial, laboratory, and environmental monitoring environments. The goal of producing these detector tubes is to create a reliable product with high performance accuracy and ease of use for users, while at the same time meeting global safety and monitoring standards.

Carbon monoxide gas tube detector performance

  • Carbon monoxide gas detector tube is a glass tube with calibration graduations printed on its body. Carbon monoxide gas test tube detector allows you to directly determine the concentration of CO gases in the shortest possible time and in the operating environment. These detection tubes are portable and fast tools with easy and accurate operation for measuring the concentration of carbon monoxide gas and are used with special pumps.
  • Each tube is sealed and to ensure high accuracy, the inner diameters of the Prager tube are strictly controlled and the detection reagents with long-term stability are selected. Each carbon monoxide gas detector tube is filled with high-purity reagents that absorb and react with CO gases. After interaction, just a few minutes after sampling, the gas concentration is formed as a colored spot, the length of which is proportional to the concentration of carbon monoxide gas. The concentration is read directly using the measuring scale engraved on each tube for most applications.
  • The sample gas (carbon monoxide) is delivered to the gas test tube in a specified volume using an air sampling pump (of which there are several types available on the market). All of these types of detector tubes are calibrated for use with 2 to 10 full strokes to ensure accurate gas sampling. Before use, both ends of the tube are broken. This is often done using a sharp-tipped cutter that comes with the gas sampling pump.
  • These tubes are short-term, designed to measure the amount of gas at a sample location, at a specific location, and over a relatively short period of time. Depending on the amount and type of gas, as well as the type of sampling pump, measurements from these tubes may take from a few seconds (about 50 seconds) to a few minutes or more (about 4 minutes).

How to read a carbon monoxide gas tube detector

  • For accurate readings of the carbon monoxide gas tube detector, an adequate light source is required. However, direct sunlight should be avoided as the sun’s UV rays may cause a double color change. To improve the readability of the color change, it is also very useful to use a light background (white paper).
  • A sufficiently bright flashlight can be used when there is no suitable light source in the environment. Also, when an accurate reading of the spot length indicator is not possible, comparing the used tube with an unused CO tube and matching it to a reference standard or set of standards is another way to more accurately assess the color change. In all cases, the entire length of the color change should be read.

Typically, users encounter three different situations when reading gas concentrations:

  • The color indicator or spot terminates at a right angle to the longitudinal axis of the test tube.
  • The color or stain indicator is diagonal to the longitudinal axis of the tube.
  • The end of the indicator is very scattered with color or stain.
  • In the first case, the concentration can be read directly against the calibrated scale. In the second case (if the color or spot is oblique, i.e., in a direction inclined to the longitudinal axis of the tube), a long color change is observed. In this case, it is the average reading that indicates the concentration value. If the color indicator gradually disperses (the third case), it may be difficult to assess the end of the color change. In this case, the final edge of the color change should be read at the point where the least weak color change is discernible.

  • Carbon monoxide gas tube detector is a widely used analysis and measurement tool in laboratories and various industries with pollution. Carbon monoxide gas tube detector, for measuring the concentration of gas samples and vapors containing CO gas, was designed and produced for the first time in Iran. The advantages of this tube are presented below:
  • The first and only tubes produced in Iran (by Bulor Azma Company) and the third in the world
  • The name, type, and number of each special tube are engraved on the body.
  • As a general rule, the number indicates the lower end of the measurement range (in ppm, mg/m3, mg/l or vol.-%).
  • The letter next to the number indicates changes to the tube, usually the result of further product upgrades or development (for carbon monoxide 5/C).
  • The tube name indicates the specific pollutant the tube is calibrated to measure (CO5/C).
  • The batch number is engraved on the tube.
  • The detector tubes are of high quality and their tips break easily and do not shatter in any way for the safety of users.
  • Pure, laboratory grade chemicals are used.
  • The chemical reagent used in the tube is very sensitive to mercaptan gases, so the color change occurs quickly.
  • The printed calibration scale is highly legible and does not require interpretation, dual scales or color charts.
  • For quick identification of the tube, its chemical formula is also provided.
  • For ease of use, the standard number of strokes required by the pump to collect a standard volume of CO-containing gas or vapor for the specified standard range is provided on the tube (10/2 strokes).
  • Measurement time: Depending on the sample concentration, it takes from 50 seconds to about 4 minutes.
  • Color index: Type C/5 color change is from white to light brown.
  • Expiration date: 1 year after production (long-term product stability)
  • Compliance with safety standards Integration with data analysis software
